We’ve been listening to what users of social media really want, and especially our community of fringsters and we came up with some new solutions mashing up all your separate communities of friends into one manageable, mobile interface via fring.

A lot of people now have several social circles developing in parallel. From now on, fring lets you easily create one rich, dynamic profile for each of your contacts so you can see what anyone is up to at a glance, and interact via all your mutual social networks/services directly from one combined profile. It’s all happening on fring!

So what does it mean?
• No more multiple listings for the same friend!
• Viewing a fringster’s profile, you can see whether he’s currently available via fring, Skype or MSN, and other IM services.
• We “hint” you when a friend from your regular phone book or another social network like Skype, AIM etc is also a fringster so you can add them to your fring friend list and complete their personal profile.
• You can control how your fring world sees you! You can update your own fring profile photo, mood status and nick name

How do you do it?
• To merge together multiple contacts, follow these steps: In buddy list, select the user you want to merge > Go to “Manage buddies” –> “Merge buddies” –> it will take you to your buddy list. Scroll down to other names for the same contact that you’d like to merge –> Click OK to check the box next to each –> Hit Save. You’re done
• To update your profile click on Options–> Edit my profile–> Options–> and choose Update picture/ Update mood text/ Change nickname.
• When initially registering to fring, you will be alerted of all your GSM and social community friends who are already fringsters. Once you start using fring, we’ll let you know when other friends become fringsters by clicking Options –> Manage buddies –> Friend finder.

The Journey is a new and unique adventure game experience for your mobile phone. You are in the role of an infamous detective and have to solve a mysterious case not only by making it through the story, but also by walking to different locations.

Gone are the days where you watch a virtual character moving around on your display. Now you have to move yourself. The game is aware of your movement. Right at the beginning when you as the detective have to leave your bureau and go outside, you have to take your mobile and go through the streets of the city you live in.

The game saves the locations and in the course of the story you will have to return to your bureau and walk back to the place where you started playing.

How to Play
-----------
The game is the first version and was developed for a term paper. Therefore the story is linear and you can not influence it, but that does not make the new gaming experience any smaller. Depending on the success of The Journey, a second part might be developed, which instead of presenting you an intriguing story will let you decide for yourself which actions to take.

To play the game, read the text and scroll through it with the joystick of your S60 mobile phone. When you've reached the end of the block, press the joystick to continue in the game. As the story unfolds, you will have to walk to a new location. How far you have to go depends on where you live - it might be
50 meters or some hundred meters.

New version notes :

To make the game compatible to the touch screen phones based on S60 5th Edition, "The Journey" has been updated to v1.32. The new release combines support for both touch and non-touch phones.

The Nokia 5800 is a portable entertainment device by Nokia.

The Nokia 5800, code-named "Tube," is a Symbian S60 smartphone. It is an XpressMusic series phone, which emphasizes music and multimedia playback. While it has tactile feedback, it doesn't use Nokia's upcoming Haptikos technology

It has a compatibility mode for Java applications that are not touchscreen-aware. It works by using part of the screen for displaying the essential buttons required by the program.

A prototype of this handset was seen in the 2008 Batman movie, The Dark Knight, Christina Aguilera's "Keeps Gettin' Better" as well as the #1 hit "Womanizer" by Britney Spears. The handset was also seen in Flo Rida's "Right Round", The Pussycat Dolls' "Jai Ho!" and Katy Perry's "Waking Up In Vegas" music videos. The phone has received generally positive reviews, with UK phone magazine Mobile Choice awarding it a full 5 stars in its Feb 8th issue.

On January 23rd 2009, Nokia announced it had shipped the millionth 5800 XpressMusic device, even though it still had not been fully released worldwide. In Nokia's Q1 report released on April 16th, 2009 it was announced they had shipped 2.6 million units during the quarter, with cumulative shipments of more than 3 million units since the smartphone's launch in late November 2008.
